Unlocking your Nokia Lumia phone lets you use it with any SIM card, in the UK or abroad. With an unlock code from MyPhoneCard you order online, send us the phone’s IMEI, and we email you the code with step-by-step instructions. You do not need to post the phone anywhere.
Since December 2021, UK networks are no longer allowed to sell locked phones, but many older handsets are still locked. If your phone is still with the UK network that locked it, ask them first, as many now unlock for free. Our unlock codes help when that is not an option: a phone bought second-hand, an old account you no longer have, or a phone locked to a network outside the UK.
Before you start
- Know which network the phone is locked to. If you are not sure, put in a SIM from another network and note the message you see.
- Get the phone’s IMEI number: dial *#06# and it appears on screen. Our guide shows other ways to find your IMEI number.
- Keep a SIM card from a different network ready. You need it to enter the code.
How to unlock a Nokia Lumia phone with a code
- Choose your Nokia Lumia model in our Nokia Lumia unlock codes and place your order. Enter the IMEI and network when asked.
- Pay by bank transfer. We start work on your code once payment is confirmed.
- When your code arrives by email, switch the phone off and insert the SIM card from the other network.
- Switch the phone on. The phone asks for the SIM network unlock PIN.
- Type the unlock code exactly as written and confirm. The phone shows that the network is unlocked and connects to the new network.
Take care when typing the code. Phones only allow a limited number of attempts, and too many wrong entries can block the unlock. If the code is not accepted, stop and contact us before trying again.

Is unlocking permanent?
Yes. Once the code is accepted the phone stays unlocked, even after software updates or a factory reset.
Will it affect my warranty or data?
Entering a network unlock code is an official method and does not delete your photos, contacts or apps.
