At MyPhoneCard every order is paid by bank transfer, sent from your own bank account. There is nothing to sign up for and no payment details to type into our website. Once the money reaches us and we can match it to your order, we start processing it and keep you updated by email.
How do I pay for my order by bank transfer?
Place your order with Bank transfer selected at checkout, then send the exact total from your banking app, online banking or a branch. Our account details appear on the order confirmation page and in the confirmation email. Put your order number in the payment reference field, as this is how we link your money to your order.
| Step | What you do | Why it matters |
|---|---|---|
| 1. Place the order | Choose Bank transfer at checkout and confirm | This creates your order number |
| 2. Copy our details | Take the account name, sort code and account number from the confirmation page or email | Copying rather than retyping avoids mistakes |
| 3. Add the reference | Type your order number in the reference field | Without it we cannot tell which order the money is for |
| 4. Send the exact total | Enter the amount shown on your order | A different amount can delay matching |
| 5. Wait for our email | We confirm when the payment has arrived and the order is being processed | Codes and PINs are emailed after this point |
Why must I use my order number as the reference?
Payments reach our account showing only the sender’s name, the amount and the reference. Many orders share similar totals, and the name on a bank account does not always match the name on an order. The order number is the one detail that is unique to your purchase, so it lets us match your transfer without any guesswork.
Enter the number exactly as it appears, without extra words. Some banks limit the length of the reference field, and a short order number fits comfortably where a sentence would be cut off.
How long does a UK bank transfer take?
Most UK transfers between personal accounts travel through Faster Payments, a system that runs every day of the year. These payments are designed to reach the receiving bank within two hours and often get there much sooner. Your bank can still hold a payment for extra checks, particularly the first time you pay someone new.
If your bank shows a payment as pending or under review, there is nothing further to do on our side until it is released. We process your order as soon as the funds have arrived in our account. When an order needs posting, such as a SIM card, our delivery information page explains what happens next.
What checks will my bank do when I add a new payee?
When you set up a new payee, most UK banks compare the account name you typed with the name held by the receiving bank. This is called Confirmation of Payee. Your bank may also ask what the payment is for and show a fraud warning. These steps are normal and are designed to protect you from scams.
Choose the option that describes buying goods or services. If the name check reports a mismatch, stop and compare the details with your order confirmation email before you continue. If anything still looks wrong, contact us before you send money.
Do you charge a fee for paying by bank transfer?
No. We do not add a payment fee, so the total at checkout is the amount you send. Personal UK transfers are normally included in your bank account at no extra cost. If you pay from an account outside the UK, your bank may charge for an international transfer, and that charge sits with you rather than with us.
Have a coupon code? Enter it in your basket before checkout and the discount is taken off the order total, so the amount you transfer already includes it.
What if something goes wrong with my payment?
Most payment problems are fixed with an email. If you forgot the reference, sent the wrong amount or paid twice, contact us with your order number, your name as it appears on your bank account, the amount and the date you paid. We can then find the transfer and match it to your order by hand.
Our terms and conditions cover payment in full, and our guide to how top-up vouchers work explains what you receive after paying for a voucher.
