Sending rupees to a phone in Pakistan is one of the simplest ways to help someone back home stay in touch. This guide takes you through each stage of ordering a Pakistan mobile top-up from the UK: picking the network, typing the number in the right format, choosing an amount, paying by UK bank transfer and knowing what to expect afterwards.
Which networks can I top up in Pakistan?
You can send credit to prepaid numbers on Jazz, Zong, Telenor and Ufone. These four networks share a single price list on our site, so a given rupee amount costs the same in pounds whichever one your relative or friend uses. Your only job is to pick the network that the SIM in their phone belongs to right now.
People in Pakistan can move a number from one network to another and keep the same digits, so the opening digits are not a reliable guide. If you are unsure, send a message and ask. It takes a moment and avoids a failed or misdirected order.
Top-ups are meant for prepaid (pay as you go) numbers. A monthly contract line is billed differently and cannot be credited this way.
How do I write a Pakistan mobile number with the country code?
Pakistan’s country code is +92. Mobile numbers written locally start with 03 and have eleven digits, which looks like 03xx xxxxxxx. To turn that into the international format, drop the leading zero and put 92 in front, so it becomes +92 3xx xxxxxxx. Type it into the Pakistan Mobile Number box in exactly that order.
Here is a worked pattern using x’s in place of real digits:
- Written on a note at home: 03xx xxxxxxx
- What you enter with us: +92 3xx xxxxxxx (or 92 3xx xxxxxxx)
Common slips to avoid:
- Keeping the zero after the code, as in +92 03xx. That adds an extra digit and the number will not match.
- Adding 00 as well as the plus sign. Use one or the other, never both.
- Leaving out a digit when copying from a chat app. Count them: after 92 there should be ten digits starting with 3.
How much does a Pakistan top-up cost in pounds?
There are eight amounts to choose from, starting at 100 PKR and going up to 5,000 PKR. In pounds they range from £0.49 for the smallest to £25.49 for the largest, and every network is priced the same. The product page shows the current price next to each amount, so you can confirm the figure before anything goes into your basket.
| Amount sent | Price (GBP) |
|---|---|
| 100 PKR | £0.49 |
| 200 PKR | £1.09 |
| 300 PKR | £1.59 |
| 500 PKR | £2.59 |
| 1,000 PKR | £5.09 |
| 2,000 PKR | £10.19 |
| 3,000 PKR | £15.29 |
| 5,000 PKR | £25.49 |
The figure in rupees is the face value of the recharge. Local taxes and the network’s own rules decide how that appears on the handset, so the balance shown in Pakistan may not match the face value to the rupee. That part is set by the operator, not by us.
If you top up the same person regularly, a mid-sized amount such as 1,000 PKR often saves you placing lots of small orders.
What should I check before I pay?
A careful look at checkout prevents almost every problem we see. Confirm the network, re-read the number digit by digit against the original, make sure the amount is the one you meant, and check that your email address is typed correctly, because that is where we send updates about your order.
- Network: Jazz, Zong, Telenor or Ufone, as the person currently uses.
- Number: starts with 92, then 3, then nine more digits.
- Amount: the rupee value you intend, shown with its price in pounds.
- Email: spelled correctly so our messages reach you.
How do I pay for a Pakistan top-up by bank transfer?
UK bank transfer is the only payment method we accept. When you place your order, the confirmation page shows our account details and your order number. You then send the exact total from your own banking app or online banking and use the order number as the payment reference. That reference is how we match your money to your order.
If you have never paid us before, your bank may ask you to confirm the new payee, and some banks hold a first payment for extra checks. That is normal. Our guide on how to pay by bank transfer covers each screen in more detail, including what to do if you forget the reference.
When will the credit reach the phone in Pakistan?
Your order is processed as soon as your payment is confirmed in our account. Credit is usually applied to the Pakistan number at that stage, and a confirmation email from us follows. The person receiving it normally gets a text from their network as well. Bank checks on new payees can add time, so we do not quote a fixed delivery window.
If the recipient has not seen anything after you have had our confirmation email, ask them to restart the handset and check the balance with their network’s usual code or app. If it still looks wrong, email us with your order number and we will look into it.
What happens if I enter the wrong number?
A top-up sent to a valid but incorrect number is credited to whoever owns that number, and the network cannot take it back. Because of that we are unable to refund a recharge that went to a number entered wrongly at checkout. The safest habit is to copy the number from a message the recipient sent you, then check it again before paying.
If you spot a mistake after ordering but before you have transferred the money, simply do not pay and contact us, and we can cancel the order. Once your payment has been confirmed and the top-up has gone, it cannot be reversed.
Sending credit to other countries works in much the same way. Our overview of how to top up a phone abroad explains the general steps if you support people in several places.
Frequently asked questions
Does the person in Pakistan need to do anything?
No. They just need the SIM in a phone that is switched on and able to receive texts. The rupees are added to their prepaid balance by the network.
Can I send two top-ups to the same Jazz or Zong number?
Yes. Add the Pakistan top-up to your basket a second time with the same number, or pick a larger amount instead.
Can I top up a Pakistan landline or a contract phone?
No. This service is for prepaid mobile numbers only. Landlines and monthly contract lines are not supported.
How will I know the top-up has been sent?
We email you once the credit has been sent to the number, so keep an eye on your inbox and your spam folder after paying.
