Description
Morocco is a short flight from the UK, which makes it a favourite for long weekends in Marrakech, winter sun in Agadir and road trips out to the Atlas Mountains and the desert. Having mobile data from the moment you land makes it easier to find your riad in the medina, book a transfer and keep in touch with whoever you are travelling with.
A travel eSIM gives you that data without buying a local SIM at the airport. It is added to your phone next to your UK SIM, so your UK number stays in place for bank texts while the eSIM looks after maps, messages and browsing during your stay.

Choose your Morocco data plan
There are 4 plans for Morocco. Pick the one that matches the length of your stay and how much you stream, video call or share photos.
| Plan | Price |
|---|---|
| 2GB – 15 days | £8.62 |
| Unlimited – 3 days | £15.41 |
| Unlimited – 5 days | £25.64 |
| Unlimited – 7 days | £33.15 |
- Long weekend in Marrakech: Unlimited for 3 days or unlimited for 5 days covers maps in the souks, messaging and sharing photos without counting megabytes.
- A week in Agadir or Essaouira: Unlimited for 7 days suits a full week of beach days, taxi bookings and video calls home.
- Light use over two weeks: 2GB for 15 days is enough for maps, WhatsApp and checking emails if you mostly use your hotel Wi-Fi.
How ordering works
- Choose a plan and place your order. Pay by UK bank transfer or PayPal.
- Once your payment is confirmed, we prepare your eSIM and send you the QR code by email or live chat. Orders are handled by hand, so we suggest ordering at least a day before you fly.
- Scan the QR code at home over Wi-Fi, then switch the eSIM on when you arrive in Morocco.

Installing your eSIM
- iPhone: Settings, Mobile Service (or Mobile Data), Add eSIM, then Use QR Code.
- Samsung Galaxy: Settings, Connections, SIM manager, Add eSIM, then Scan QR code.
- Google Pixel: Settings, Network and internet, SIMs, Add SIM, then Download a SIM instead.
Install it before you travel, while you have a steady Wi-Fi connection. A QR code can usually be installed only once, so do not delete the eSIM from your phone until your trip is over. When you land, turn on the eSIM line, set it as the line for mobile data and switch on data roaming for that eSIM.
Using mobile data in Morocco
Most UK visitors arrive at Marrakech Menara, Agadir Al Massira, Fes Saïss, Tangier or Casablanca Mohammed V. Data is most useful in the old medinas, where the lanes are a maze and an offline map or live location helps a lot. It also helps with translation apps for Arabic and French, booking trains between Casablanca, Rabat, Tangier and Fes, and sharing your location with a driver.
Signal is usually good in cities and along main roads, but it can be weak in parts of the Atlas Mountains and in the desert around Merzouga and Zagora, so download offline maps before heading out.
Check your phone first
Your phone must be unlocked and support eSIM. Most iPhones from the XS and XR onwards, Samsung Galaxy S20 and later, and Google Pixel 3 and later can use one. Some models sold in certain countries have no eSIM, so look for an Add eSIM option in your settings. If you are not sure, ask us before you order.
Good to know
- Data only: these plans give you mobile data, not a local phone number. Use WhatsApp, FaceTime or other apps for calls and messages.
- For travel only: the plans work in Morocco and are not meant for use in the UK.
- Your UK SIM: keep it in the phone to receive texts such as bank codes, but turn off data roaming on it so it does not use data abroad.
- Morocco only: this plan is for Morocco. If you cross to Spain, Ceuta or Melilla, ask us about a plan for that part of your route.
- Unlimited plans: a fair-use policy can apply. Ask us if you expect very heavy use.
Questions
Will the eSIM work in the desert?
It works where there is a mobile signal, and in remote desert camps that can be patchy or missing. Download offline maps and let people know you may be out of touch for a night.
Can I use it for a day trip from Spain to Tangier?
Yes, once it is active it works in Morocco. Remember the plan days start when it is active, so a short unlimited plan suits a brief visit.
When should I buy my Morocco eSIM?
A day or more before you travel is best. That leaves time to receive the QR code and install it at home.
When do the days start counting?
The number of days is how long the plan lasts once it is active. Install it before you go and switch it on when you arrive.
Can I cancel after the QR code is sent?
No. Like our other codes, an eSIM cannot be returned once the QR code has been sent. See our refunds and cancellations page.
