Description
Recharge a Vodafone, Etisalat (e&) or Orange prepaid line in Egypt from the UK, in Egyptian pounds. You pay in British pounds by bank transfer, so it helps to check which pound you are looking at: the amount is EGP, the price is GBP.
It suits Egyptians in the UK supporting family in Cairo or Alexandria, and visitors who held on to an Egyptian SIM from a holiday and want credit on it before they return.

Number format
Egyptian mobiles start with 01 when dialled locally. For a top-up, drop the first 0 and add +20, so the number looks like +20 1x xxxx xxxx. Check every digit, because credit sent to the wrong number cannot be returned.
Prepaid only
Contract lines cannot be recharged. Since Egyptian numbers can move between operators, choose the one the number uses now. You will find other countries on our international top-up page.
