Description
Recharge an Airtel, Vi or Jio prepaid mobile in India from the UK, paying in pounds by bank transfer. The rupee amount goes onto the number you enter.
How Jio is different
Airtel and Vi are sold as rupee amounts. Jio is listed with three values, 239, 349 and 719 INR, so ask the person which one they normally use.

Airtel ranges from 10 to 1,000 INR and Vi from 10 to 100 INR.
Mobile number
Indian mobile numbers are 10 digits. Add +91 at the front, without the 0 some people use, for example +91 98xxx xxxxx. A recharge sent to a wrong number cannot be reversed by the operator.
Prepaid only
Postpaid connections cannot be recharged here. Indian numbers can be ported between operators, so pick the operator the number uses today, not the one it started on. Read our guide to topping up a phone abroad if you would like the steps in more detail.
Who it suits
Indian families in the UK recharging a parent’s phone in Delhi, Mumbai, Chennai or a home village, and students who keep an Indian prepaid number for when they go home.
